Amanda Hammond is a licensed professional counselor, specializing in individual, family, and child/adolescent (ages 5 and up) therapy. I offer daytime, evening, and weekend appointments.

Amanda has over 8 years of experience as a therapist, and is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a graduate certificate from the Speciality Program for Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA) program. She specializes in mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse, trauma, childhood behavior disorders, and parenting and behavior management.

Amanda views counseling as a collaborative process, and uses cognitive-behavioral therapy, DBT, and motivational interviewing to help clients learn skills to face life’s challenges and stressors. She works to engage children in therapy with the use of art, play, and activity-based techniques. She utilizes an individualized, person-centered approach to help clients work toward their identfied goals.
