I am Mary Philipp, a Limited Licensed Psychologist. People experience life differently, but everyone has difficult times when they feel stress, anxiety, sadness or just want to "get away from things". I have worked as a therapist for over 18 years, specializing in substance abuse and codependency issues. It is my goal to assist clients in dealing their personal struggles in order to improve their quality of life. I believe everyone has untapped strengths that can be nurtured and developed to allow the experience of more success and joy.
I welcome anyone who wants to improve their circumstances by assisting them in identifying their problems, strengths, and goals as well as developing new skills. I am a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor with personal experience with addiction and recovery.
Areas of expertise include crisis intervention, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, anxiety, trauma, depression, and relationship problems. I utilize Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Insight Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I am able to refer to inpatient treatment/detoxification if necessary.
